Welcome to oilbanter.com

Oil and gas are the life blood of our modern civilisation. They are completely embedded in every facet of our everyday lives and they have shaped, and controlled contemporary life for the last century.
This wonderful commodity is often misunderstood, taken for granted and underappreciated in modern society. At a time when the environmental movement has become very fashionable, the energy industry is often portrayed in a negative light by the media. This is often misleading and unfair. Instead we should celebrate being part of such a wonderful, and exciting period in history.
Here at oilbanter we hope to bring together the oil community from around the globe to take part in friendly banter and debate. In the FORUM you can meet like minded individuals to discuss the industry and beyond.
There is also a serious side to this site. We have a dedicated MEMORIAL in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in the industry. Inspired by the Piper Alpha memorial in Aberdeen, we will strive to name as many victims as possible, so they can be remembered as more than just a number. These were just normal people trying to earn a living, and support their families, and should never be forgotten.
